It was time.
Yesterday’s 34-10 loss to Illinois showed that a change needed to be made at head coach. Paul Chryst’s message of “we have to do better”, had fallen on deaf ears and his offensive scheme had grown stale over the past two years.
Wisconsin was going to make this move if teams like Illinois, Iowa Rutgers Maryland and Illinois were doing things such as recruiting better than Wisconsin well Illinois is already there and with the upcoming schedule, there was no sure-fire win left.
I like Paul Chryst and I hope he finds a job somewhere in the next season because he’s a great offensive mind but he’s better suited to be an offensive coordinator somewhere not a head coach.
Chryst finishes his Wisconsin tenure with an overall record of 67-26 and (43-18 in Big Ten play) He finished one win shy of tying Bret Bielema for second all-time in wins as Wisconsin head coach.
